Cllr Tito Arana is a Councillor on the Haworth, Cross Roads and Stanbury Parish Council. In his professional life Cllr Arana works for the UK’S largest Amenity Company Rigby Taylor and is the Company’s Business Development Manager.
Rigby Taylor supply fertilizer, grass seed and chemical products to all areas of turf that are designated for amenity use.
Our clients include many Premier League footballs clubs including Manchester United, Liverpool, Chelsea to name but a few and we also supply St. Georges Park and Wembley. In other sectors we supply to the following, Racecourses, Golf Clubs, Bowling Clubs and Cricket Clubs throughout the UK.
Cllr Arana has lived in Lees and Cross Roads for most of his life and is a former Pupil of Lees Primary School. He is also the Chairman of Friends of Cross Roads Park who is working hard to improve the park and its facilities.
Cllr Arana enjoys fell walking, most sports, trips to the theatre and dining out with his wife and two children, both Cllr Arana’s Children also went to Lees School and in doing so became the third generation from his family to attend this first class school at the heart of the village.
Cllr Arana is passionate about the education provision within the Worth Valley and is confident that the newly formed Academy will see it go from strength to strength.
I am 36 years of age; I’m married with 5 children and have lived in Batley most of my life. After completing a degree in Economics (2001), I worked briefly at the University of Bradford before working as a Peripatetic Bursar with Serco, Education Bradford. I left Serco after a number of years and began providing Bursar support to schools independently.
I am now the Director at ‘Sohail Mahmood Consultant Bursar Ltd’. I specialise in Education Financial Management. I have been in this sector for almost 15 years, working across the whole range from 2 Year old Provisions and Nursery Schools to Primary, Special & Secondary Schools.
I’m currently supporting over 30 Schools and Academies. The services offered are varied and in encompass all areas of financial management. I’m working closely with other multi academy trusts, assisting with their formation and providing financial consultancy support. I provide the Responsible Officer role to a number of Academies. I also provide financial training and guidance to governing bodies, head teachers and school business managers about their roles and responsibilities.
I am a governor at the school which my children attend. I am presently Vice Chair and the Chair of Finance, having previously been Chair of Governors. I’m passionate about education and learning. I hope to share with Bronte Academy Trust key skills such as due diligence and strategic vision to assist the Trust to grow and become a beacon of success.
I am ex head teacher of Oakworth Primary School and throughout my career I tried to ensure all children received the best education I could offer.
I will continue to do this in retirement as a member of the Bronte Academy Trust.
