After completing a degree in Sociology and Criminology, I joined the Exceed SCITT program, eager to pursue a career in teaching. The support and guidance I received throughout the course was exceptional. The expert mentorship and tailored feedback helped me grow as a teacher, boosting my confidence and skills in the classroom. One of the most invaluable experiences was the opportunity to visit other schools, which broadened my perspective and deepened my understanding of diverse teaching practices. Now, as a first-year ECT at Oakworth Primary School, I continue to benefit from excellent mentoring and support through the ECT program, which offers crucial professional support and learning opportunities. The ECT programme has played a pivotal role in my professional development, providing structured learning and reflection. My mentors at Oakworth are fantastic, offering continuous guidance and helping me build on the solid foundation laid during the SCITT program.
