We recognise that the Public Sector Equality Duty (PSED) has three aims that we must have due regard to, the need to

  1. Eliminate discrimination and other conduct that is prohibited by the Equality Act 2010
  2. Advance equality of opportunity between people who share a protected characteristic and people who do not share it 
  3. Foster good relations across all characteristics – between people who share a protected characteristic and people who do not share it

Aligned with our strategic improvement priorities, we have set the following four equality objectives for 2026 onwards: 

  1.  All schools, communities and the Central Team will be supported to identify and address their vulnerabilities 
  2.  All educators will receive a high quality responsive professional learning programme 
  3.  All learners will be provided with a broad balanced and inclusive  education 
  4.  All learners will be supported to improve their outcomes and we will be ambitious to accelerate the progress of less advantaged pupils and those with special educational needs.
